Frase MCP server
Run Frase from your AI assistant
Frase plugs into Claude, Cursor, and other AI assistants using MCP, the open standard for connecting tools to AI. Once it is in, you just ask: research a topic, draft the post, score it, publish it. Your assistant does the clicking.
Works on every plan, including the 7-day free trial. No credit card.
Three ways in. Pick one.
In Claude
Frase is in the Claude connector directory. Open Connectors, search for Frase, click Connect, and sign in with your Frase account. That is the whole setup.
Any MCP client
Give your assistant this address and sign in when the browser opens. Nothing to install, no key to paste.
https://next.frase.io/api/mcpLocal, for developers
Run the open-source server on your own machine with an API key. Keys live in your Frase settings under API Keys, on any plan, from the first day of a trial.
npx @frase/mcp-serverAsk Frase to...
Click any of these to copy it, then paste it into your assistant. They all work on day one of a trial.
What your assistant can reach
Everything Frase can do comes through the connection, whichever way you set it up.
Research and briefs
Pull what actually ranks for a query, then turn it into a brief your writer or your agent can work from.
Writing and optimization
Draft in your brand voice, score against what wins on Google, and score for the signals AI engines look for.
Site audits
Check a page or a whole site and get the list of fixes back in your assistant, ready to act on.
AI visibility
See where ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI cite you, and read the answers behind the numbers.
Publishing
Push finished work to WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Sanity, or FraseCMS in one call.
Monitoring and repair
Watch published pages for ranking decay and get the repair drafted for your approval.
Your keys, your call
You approve the connection yourself, on a screen that tells you what you are approving. Connect the hosted way and there is no key at all; run it yourself and the key lives in your settings, yours to revoke whenever. Either way Frase drafts and asks, and nothing publishes without your say-so unless you decide it should.
Looking for the other direction?
This page is about giving your assistant Frase’s tools. There is a mirror image of it, called WebMCP, where your own website offers tools to the AI agents that visit it. Sites hosted on FraseCMS ship that automatically, and you can check any site’s agent readiness free.
Proof
Proof you can check yourself.
You are about to connect something to your content system. Nobody should take a marketing page’s word on that. So here are three things a stranger can check in about thirty seconds, with no account.
A package you can install right now
Both the connector and the command-line tool are published openly, under the Frase name, for anyone to inspect before they install anything.
Written setup for the client you already use
Setup is written out for each assistant Frase supports, naming the exact file to change. No guesswork, and nothing hidden behind a sales call.
A connect path you can inspect
Connecting is the same sign-in you already know: your assistant asks for access, you approve it in your browser, and it is done. No keys to copy, nothing to paste.
“The MCP is so easy to use and is a game changer because it brings insights directly into my workflow without needing to toggle between tabs.”
Questions people ask
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard for connecting outside tools to AI assistants, so instead of copying things between Frase and Claude by hand, your assistant can use Frase directly. You do not need to understand the standard to use it. You connect once and then ask for what you want in plain language.
How do I connect Frase to Claude?
Frase is listed in the Claude connector directory. Open Connectors in Claude, search for Frase, click Connect, and sign in with your Frase account. There is nothing to install and no key to copy. Other assistants such as Cursor and Windsurf connect to the same address, https://next.frase.io/api/mcp.
What can my assistant actually do with Frase?
Research what ranks for a query, build a content brief, draft the page in your brand voice, score it for Google and for AI search, audit a page or a whole site, check whether ChatGPT and other engines are citing you, publish to WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Sanity, or FraseCMS, and watch published pages for ranking decay.
Is it safe to connect an AI assistant to my content?
You approve the connection yourself, and you can revoke it any time from your Frase settings. Frase drafts and waits by default, so nothing publishes or changes on a live page unless you say so. If you would rather let it apply low-risk changes on its own, that is a setting you turn on.
Do I need a developer to set this up?
No. Connecting through the Claude directory takes a couple of clicks. The option to run the connector on your own machine exists for teams who want it, but most people never need it.
Does this cost extra?
No. It is part of your Frase plan, and it works from the first day of a free trial. Plans start at $39 a month billed yearly, and the trial needs no credit card.
Connected in minutes
Start a trial, find Frase in your assistant’s connector directory, and run your first prompt before your coffee cools.
7 days free. No credit card. Yearly plans save 20%.
